Fans produce a cooling effect by circulating air around us, speeding up the evaporation of sweat; Air Coolers use evaporative cooling where cooler-moisturised air is blown into the room.
Fans do not remove heat nor lower the air temperature inside a room; air coolers do (by 3-5oC), and this lower temperature will also be felt across the whole room.
In the PowerPac Evaporative Air Cooler IF7880, hot air is pumped through 3 cold water-logged Filters which absorb heat as the water evaporates. The cooled air is then blown into the room by an internal fan. The 3 Anti-static Dust Filters also remove dust and pollen, which can trigger asthma and allergies, and reduce odours.
The IF7880 has an in-built Ionizer, which releases negative ions into the air. Negative ions efficiently remove small particles from the air, especially during haze season. Some studies have suggested that negative ions provide multiple health benefits to humans/animals, might inhibit the growth and/or kill some microorganisms (like viruses and mould spores). Moreover, no data showed any harmful effects of negative ions on humans/animals.(1)
PowerPac's most powerful Air Cooler, IF7880 comes with 4-speed setting, including Turbo-speed. It also includes Oscillation, which will swing the Front louvers. In addition, using the Timer setting, the appliance can be preset to work for 1-8 hours, after which the appliance will shut-off automatically. All functions can be accessed via buttons on the Control Panel or the Remote Control. This appliance can also be used as a normal fan, without water.
