For a start, fan blades circulate the air around us speeding up the evaporation of sweat, which provides a cooling effect; air coolers use evaporative cooling where cooler-moisturised air is blown into the room.
Fans do not remove heat and so do not lower the air temperature inside a room; while air coolers do, and this lower temperature will also be felt across the whole room.
In the PowerPac Evaporative Air Cooler IF7850, hot air is pumped through a cold water-logged Filter which absorbs heat as the water evaporates. The cooled air is then blown into the room by an internal fan. The Anti-static Dust Filter also removes dust and pollen, which can trigger asthma and allergies, and reduce odours.
The IF7850 has an in-built Ionizer, accessible via the ANION Button, which releases negative ions into the air. Negative ions efficiently remove small particles from the air, especially during haze season. Some studies have suggested that negative ions provide multiple health benefits on humans/animals, might inhibit the growth and/or kill some microorganisms (like viruses and mould spores). Moreover, no data showed any harmful effects of negative ions on humans/animals.(1)
The IF7850 comes with 3-speed setting and includes a Mosquito mode which emits ultrasonic waves to repel mosquitoes. It also includes Oscillation, which will swing the vertical Front Louvers. All functions can be accessed via buttons on the Control Panel or the Remote Control. This appliance can also be used as a normal fan, without water.
